Mapping the Farm

A well written anthology, memoirs of country, farmer and hard work and a contrast with urban life in small towns of the Midwest.

I grew up on a farm and found the book in a personal and touching way showed the rise and fall of the family farm and the changes we are facing in modern agriculture today. I think any one who cares about the future of the family farm and the futue of our food supply would find this book thought provoking.

Hildebrand's book is some of the best literary nonfiction I've read. His characters are well-developed.
